About
Meet April

Before I was a travel designer, I spent nearly 20 years in the tech world as a Design recruiter and operations specialist. My day job was about mastering the art of logistics, listening deeply, and finding the perfect fit, but my real passion happened after hours. I was always the friend everyone called when they needed an escape. I spent the margins of a very demanding career happily designing itineraries for the people I love, and somewhere along the way, I realized all that unpaid planning was my real résumé.
Off the clock, I am unapologetically me. I’m married to my best friend, raising a fantastic teenage daughter who loves to travel as well and keeping up with our pack of dogs. You’ll usually find me outdoors -mountain biking, skiing, or backpacking -or curled up reading (mostly smut, let’s be honest). In our house, Taylor Swift is Queen - end of conversation, my sourdough starter is named Elton, and I have a fashion, shopping, and bag collection problem that I refuse to apologize for.
My own travel style lives somewhere between a tasting menu and a trailhead. I will gladly skip the velvet-rope lobby without a second thought so I can spend on the meal I’ll still be talking about years later. I believe the best trips have a little dirt on their boots and a great glass of wine in their hand.
Today, I engineer that exact balance for my clients. I design authentic, meaningful trips for couples craving connection, milestone girls’ getaways, solo travelers seeking real adventure, and families wanting to make lasting memories. And through my partnership with Fora Travel, I unlock a global black book of hotel partners, local guides, and VIP perks for every single journey.
Leaving a steady, successful career to build Embolden is the boldest thing I’ve ever done. Still terrifying. But I'm doing it anyway. Because stepping into the unknown is exactly what travel is all about, and now I get to help you take your own leap.
